Wilderness Safaris Tented Camps:

For our classic African safaris we like the Wilderness Safaris tented camps where the fine balance between an exclusive, natural experience in the bush is maintained without having to forego essential home comforts.

Camps are generally small with around 6 to 10 chalets and are superbly appointed, with en-suite bathrooms. Cuisine is excellent.

A typical day consists of an early morning wake up call for tea and coffee before a game drive : early mornings are excellent times to chance upon leopard or lion still in the vicinity of a kill from the previous night.

On your return to the camp, a sumptuous breakfast awaits!

After a siesta through the heat of the day, afternoon tea is followed by a game drive to a lookout point for sundowners before returning to camp for a delicious safari-style meal served under the stars with the sounds and smells of the African night all around.

We share the Wilderness Safaris ethos of enjoying the wild places of Africa in an eco responsible way.

Like Wilderness, we believe that community involvement in wildlife initiatives is the only way of ensuring the sustainable conservation of the natural environment.

Wilderness Safaris operates in Botswana, Zambia, Namibia and South Africa.

There is a wide selection of safari options available.

Mfuwe Lodge, South Luangwa, Zambia:

A unique lodge situated in the South Luangwa National Park with 18 luxury en-suite thatched chalets, each with a private decking area overlooking a lagoon that attracts abundant wildlife from the African bush. When the Luangwa is in flood the raging torrent leaves behind attractive oxbow lagoons which are one of the most picturesque aspects of the valley. Hidden away among the huge ebony and fig trees on the banks of one of these beautiful lagoons sits Mfuwe Lodge.

Honeyguide Tented Safari Camps, Manyeleti Game Reserve:

The Manyeleti Game Reserve shares a fenceless border with Kruger, Sabi Sands and Timbavati Game Reserves, creating a composite ecological niche where all the animals roam free in one of the best areas in which to view Africa's Big Five.

Honeyguide has two separate 12 tented camps with en-suite bathrooms, offering either a family or a more exclusive experience.

Notten's Bush Camp, Sabi Sand Reserve, next to Kruger:

Notten's Bush Camp is a small and exclusive safari lodge in South Africa. This family-owned-and-run concession is a jewel within the heart of the Sabi Sand Game Reserve, one of South Africa's finest natural sanctuaries, within the Greater Kruger National Park. It combines superb game viewing with fine cuisine to create a five star African safari experience.
