Vines were first planted in this fertile valley from the mid 17th century, and as such are the oldest vineyards in South Africa. This winery and tasting tour follows a scenic route with outstanding vineyard and mountain views below Table Mountain and Constantiaberg and looking out to False Bay and the Hottentots Holland mountain range beyond. The route is dotted with historical homesteads and is home to several of South Africa’s classic varietals, known especially for Cabernet Sauvignon, Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc as well as one of our favourite ‘Methode Cap Classique’ sparkling wines.
